International Daughters' Day

International Daughters’ Day, celebrated the world over on the fourth Sunday of September, serves as a reminder of the immeasurable love and joy daughters bring into our lives. It is day to express gratitude for their presence and their uniqueness. The celebration also underlines the importance of gender equality and the empowerment of girls.

At St. Andrew’s Parish, the Women’s Cell invited parents to write letters of appreciation to their daughters. On Sunday, 24 September 2023, these letters were hand-delivered to the recipients along with a goodie bag.

“I wanted to extend my deepest gratitude to all of you for the heartwarming Daughters’ Day surprise. The outpouring of love and support I received was truly overwhelming. The kind words and the thoughtfulness behind it all made this day unforgettable. It's moments like these that remind me of the incredible bonds we share as a community. Thank you for making me feel cherished and appreciated.” – Winsome-Mary Samson (daughter)

“Thank you gift to Melody... thank you to all your team members and to Fr. Magi too for the efforts and the trouble all of you have taken to spread happiness!” – Melinda Frank (mother)
